Big Pines Nature Trail Description
The Big Pines Nature Trail is located west of the town of Wrightwood, behind the Big Pines Visitor Center. From the trail head (to the right of the Visitor Center building) you climb up a rock staircase. Being that it is a nature trail, handouts are available in the Big Pines Visitor Center that explain features and plants on the trail. The hike is very short as it makes a quick and easy loop on the side of Table Mountain. If you're an extreme hiker, don't waste your time here. On the other hand, if you're down for a leisurely stroll along the hillside, then knock yourself out.
Directions to Big Pines Nature Trail from Wrightwood
From Wrightwood, take Hwy 2 westbound, approximately 1 mile past Mountain High's East Resort to the Big Pines Visitor Center. The trail head is located to the rear of the Visitor Center (on the north side of Hwy 2).
Don't forget to display a National Forest Adventure Pass in the windshield of your vehicle.
